Guerrilla Opera

Did you guys hear about this?  A couple weeks ago, “shoppers at Whole Foods Market in Harbor East Baltimore received an unusual surprise.”

I spotted it on fellow illustrator, Peggy Fussell’s blog.

I love stuff like this!  I reminds me of the New York subway serenades, and dance performances that would pop up and make you smile.  Its fun to see strangers surprised and then really happy.  I told Peggy that video reminds me of this one:

If you want more, search for Flash Mobs (which implies waaay more exciting performances,) or check out  Improv Everywhere –of the “No Pants Subway Rides” and “Guerrilla Handbell Strikeforce”.  I especially like this one:

I have soft spot for synchronized swimming.

Awesome! Such a happy thing. Yep, I love Improv Everywhere (esp. Frozen Grand Central, and Look Up More). The T-Mobile video is great too – I went on youtube and watched a video with the behind the scenes. Love it!

Just last week, me & my friends were looking up videos online for improv songs & dances. I love Sound of Music’s “Do Re Mi” played at a Belgium train station, including an ellaborate dance number [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EYAUazLI9k]. And of course I can’t forget the wedding entrance dance to Chris Brown’s “Forever” [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-94JhLEiN0&feature=fvw]. We spent at least an hour looking through videos.

By the way, Netflix does have ‘We Are Wizards’ so that will definitely be the next thing I watch on my movie list. Thanks `=)
