My parents friends took this photo of them in Providence during the blizzard of 1978. They were helping dig out cars covered in snow. Anyhow, I just love this picture.
Here’s my mom last summer at my sister’s wedding:
Another one of my favorites.
I love you, Mom. Have a wonderful day! See you later at your birthday dinner…

Both of those are such wonderful pictures – your mom looks great in both of them.
She looks like a cross between you and Faith in the 78 one.
I hope we get a blizzard tomorrow!

OMG I was there in the blizzard of 78!! My husband was in Rhode Island (I didn’t know him then) and I was in Mass.
They had to airlift snowplows into RI because you couldn’t get through ANY roads, not even highways. It was something else.
Your parents don’t look too happy in the photo. And those little shovels aren’t gonna help 🙂
Your mother is stunning in your sister’s wedding photo…as is your sister.
We’re hoping to move back to RI in the spring after being in Calif for 15 years. My husband’s heart is there 😉

Lolo: How funny! My sister just moved to Boston after years in Northern California. And I just moved back to Providence, from New York and definitely recommend it! We’re having a great time!
My parents have crazy stories about that blizzard as well. I think in the photo they’re doing their best American Gothic impression:)
